NONDESTRUCTIVE EVALUATION AND OVERLAY DESIGN OF AIRFIELD FLEXIBLE PAVEMENTS IN BRAZIL - A CASE STUDY
A case study of the airfield pavements of the Fernando de Noronha Island is presented in order to give evidences of how the airfield pavement evaluations and overlay design analysis are done in Brazil. This paper describes the application of the current approach used in Brazil to backcalculating pavement layer moduli. Emphasis is also put on the use of these moduli for designing airfield flexible pavement overlays using the multilayered elastic solution program PDAPD (Permanent Deformation for Airfield Flexible Pavement Design).
