ASPHALT-AGGREGATE MIX DESIGN USING THE REPETITIVE SIMPLE SHEAR TEST (CONSTANT HEIGHT) (WITH DISCUSSION)
A mix design procedure to estimate the rutting resistance of dense-graded asphalt concrete mixes is presented. It is based on a relationship between rut depth and maximum shear strain developed from a non-linear elastic, visco-plastic constitutive equation to describe the behavior of the asphalt concrete incorporated into a finite element program.
