A STATE PERSPECTIVE ON THE USE OF WASTE MATERIALS IN ASPHALT MIXTURES (WITH DISCUSSION)
This paper addresses the present attitude of the State Departments of Transportation (DOTs) regarding solid waste use and the future needs of this attitude to change. It addresses state concerns of costs, performance impact, environmental risks, and availability; partnering opportunities; use of waste materials in asphalt pavements; and the crumb rubber mandate.
