ROTATING ARM EQUIPMENT FOR AN EXTENDED STRUT SWATH SHIP AS REPRESENTED BY THE SWATH-6E

This report is in microfiche form. A modified design of SWATH vessel, in which the struts have been extended aft of the lower hulls to permit rudders to be placed in the propeller slipstream, has been subjected to rotating-arm tests in which speed, drift angle, roll angle, yaw rate, and rudder deflection angle were varied at two draughts. Non-dimensional deviations are presented, and the results provide a database for the prediction of the manoeuvring performance of extended-strut SWATH ships.
