MODELING OF SHAFT COUPLINGS FOR ALIGNMENT AND VIBRATION CALCULATIONS
The major goal of this paper are to describe the most common types of marine couplings (mechanical, fluid, and electric), and to present simplified methods for incorporating their characteristics into shaft system mathematical models for use in alignment and vibration calculations. Recommendations for further analytical and experimental research pertaining to such couplings are included.
