CONSIDERATION ON SAFETY OF FENDERING SYSTEM
The author discusses the safety factor of two fender systems. The first is an existing breasting dolphin with buckling-type fenders. The other is an imaginary dolphin with pneumatic type fenders. The dolphins consist of steel pipe piles 1500 mm in diameter with a yield stress of 2.700 kgf per sq cm.
