BERTHING AND MOORING ACCIDENT STATISTICS AND USE OF RISK ANALYSIS IN BERTHING AND MOORING
This paper is divided into three parts: the first gives statistics on marine casualties and their causes for the world fleet and the Norwegian fleet, and some data on casualties that occurred during port entries and departures. The second part discusses several methods that can be used to estimate the probability of marine casualties, applying risk analysis to shipping safety issues. The final part presents an introduction to some risk problems associated with offshore mooring.
