A NEW EFFECTIVE PRODUCTS CARRIER
The latest products carriers of Osco Shipping are described. They represent a major departure from those built prior to the mid-1980s in size, capacity and--most significantly--tank design and construction. The tanks have smooth interior surfaces and are totally without the conventional features of stringers, webs or frames. This significantly decreases the surface area to be coated, reduces maintenance, and prolongs the lifespan of the tank coating. The absence of the physical projections does not compromise the inherent strength of the tanks, since they have been relocated within the double bottoms and skins that surround the tanks, providing extra insulation and acting as segregated ballast tanks.
