ITHACA'S THREE-WAY PARTNERSHIP
Ithaca has one of the fifteen best public transportation systems of any small city in the nation, primarily because its transit companies concentrate on serving the whole county despite a population of diverse needs and backgrounds. The system is able to boast of stops within three blocks of any home in the city. The county is served by three bus lines; the organization, funding and route assignments are intertwined and appear complex, but a spirit of cooperation has made the system work.
