PROBLEMS PECULIAR TO DRAINAGE IN HILL ROADS WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO LANDSLIDE CONTROL

Landslides on Himalayan Roads are invariably associated with poor drainage conditions. This paper stresses the need for the provision of effective drainage and highlights some of the conditions that adversely affect drainage in hill roads. Examples are given of insufficient maintenance and its consequences. (TRRL)
