Development of Tools for Facilitating Smart Travel Choices through Real-Time Information
Travelers need to have accurate travel information in order to select a mode or time of commute that will avoid traffic congestion. Integrated multimodal traveler information provides information about more than one mode of travel within a particular information service. It minimizes the effort to identify options (mode-route-departure time) and exposes the user to options they may not even have considered. Path2go is such a tool. Based on real-time multimodal information, it also collects trip journey data for investigating the impacts of real-time multimodal traveler information on travelers’ decision making and on the transportation system overall.
