Try the un-overlay

Virginia transportation officials got the chance to test an unbonded concrete overlay, something they had been looking to try for several years, when they found a deteriorated segment of U.S. Route 58 in Southampton County that was recommended as a good candidate for an unbonded overlay by the National Concrete Pavement Technology Center at Iowa State University. This article takes a look at this project, presenting the details of construction and providing a side-by-side comparison with a bonded concrete overlay project that took place in the same neighborhood.
