INFLUENCE OF CYCLIC COMPRESSIVE STRESSES ON THE STRENGTH, DEFORMABILITY AND CREEP OF CONCRETE, ACCORDING TO THE NUMBER OF LOADING CYCLES

VLIYANIE MNOGOKRATNO POVTORNOJ SZHIMAYUSHCHEJ NAGRUZKI NA PROCHNOST', DEFORMATIVNOST' I POLZUCHEST' BETONA V ZAVISIMOSTI OT CHISLA TSIKLOV NAGRUZHENIYA

RESULTS ARE GIVEN OF A SERIES OF TESTS ON CONCRETE SAMPLES CARRIED OUT TO DETERMINE DEFORMABILITY AND CREEP OF THE LATTER SUBJECTED TO DIFFERENT LOADING CYCLES. COMPRESSIVE STRESSES WERE APPLIED PERPENDICULAR TO THE SURFACES WHERE THE RESUMPTION OF CONCRETING WAS STARTED AND PARALLEL TO CONCRETING. THE MAIN CONCLUSIONS OF THE STUDY ARE AS FOLLOWS: THE DEFORMABILITY OF THE SAMPLES SUBJECTED TO LOADING PARALLEL TO RESUMPTION SURFACES IS GREATER THAN THAT OF THE SAMPLES SUBJECTED TO LOADS PERPENDICULAR TO THESE SURFACES; THE NUMBER OF LOADING CYCLES HAS ONLY A SMALL EFFECT ON DEFORMABILITY CHARACTERISTICS. THE APPLICATION OF A LARGE NUMBER OF LOADING CYCLES (1) REDUCES CREEP DEFORMATIONS BY APPROXIMATELY 25%, (2) REDUCES THE REVERSIBLE PART OF THE INSTANTANEOUS DEFORMATION AND (3) INCREASES THE REVERSIBLE PART OF CREEP DEFORMATION.
