The design of the new M-30

Se describe como la genesis historica de la autopista M-30 de circunvalacion de Madrid ha dado lugar a unas disfunciones, que el programa de acondicionamiento emprendido por el Ayuntamiento de Madrid va a solucionar. Se pasa revista a los criterios de diseno que se han establecido para este magno proyecto, y se describen las actuaciones comprendidas en el. Tambien se describen los firmes preconizados, y unos criterios para disenar una nueva senalizacion mas acorde con el caracter urbano de la autopista. (A). English abstract: The article describes the characteristics and ensuing problems of the existing Madrid ring road, the M-30, and details the modification programme entrusted by the Madrid city Council to resolve these problems. The author indicates the design criteria employed in this project and the work involved in the same as well as describing the prescribed road surfaces and the criteria to design new road signalling more in line with the urban nature of the ring road.
