Assessment of Visibility Grade by Camera

B-Splines-wavelet transform is imported to analyze the surveillance image's feature in frequency domain. Fog causes the disappearance of edges in the frame, which is well reflected by the change in high frequency information. Feature parameters are calculated to measure this influence, and then sent to the pattern recognition system of neural network as inputs. Output of the neural network is the assessment of visibility grades. Optical visibility detection apparatus is used as a comparison with the algorithm in the testing experiments, and the results show that this visibility algorithm is effective and robust.
