The purpose of this document is to record the results of an Austroads project on the management of unsealed roads conducted from 2000 to 2002. The project comprised three main activities - a literature review, a questionnaire survey of Australian LGAs, and a workshop. The literature review was conducted by ARRB in 2000, and was reported in a separate unpublished ARRB report held at the MG Lay Library at the ARRB Head Office. The questionnaire survey of Australian LGAs was conducted by LBD&A in 2000 on asset management practices for unsealed roads. This document reports the survey and its findings. Austroads conducted a workshop in Brisbane on 22 February 2002 on asset management tools for unsealed roads. This document contains a detailed record of the workshop, including a framework and draft implementation guidelines for asset management of unsealed roads, which were developed at the workshop. This document also contains a number of brief comments relevant to the management of unsealed roads. The main list of references compiled during the Project is in the separate report on the literature review undertaken by ARRB. However, a number of other references are listed in this document.
