As part of the Japanese Ministry of Transport's ASV Project phase 2 which started in 1996, Mitsubishi Motors has developed Mitsubishi ASV-2 advanced safety vehicles, three ASV passenger cars and one ASV truck. Representing the accumulation of safety technology know-how, Mitsubishi ASV-2 incorporates many applicable technologies for the 21st century. Mitsubishi ASV-2 now adds user-friendly ITS technologies to the advanced Active Safety and Passive Safety technologies as well as technologies designed to help aged drivers. These new safety technologies featured in each ASV-2 model are currently being refined for production model applications in the near future. For the covering abstract see ITRD E114174.
