DETECTING VEHICLE TRAFFIC CONDITIONS USING REAL TIME VISION

This paper describes several new techniques for detecting traffic conditions and hardware techniques for executing high speed image processing. The techniques employ a moving pattern recognition algorithm from visual images taken by a television camera. These techniques provide on-line and real-time detection of parking availability, driving conditions and traffic flow.
