Within the framework of R and D project 'Computer Assisted Collision Avoidance', a new approach has been developed for the handling of critical multi-ship encounter situations. To validate this approach, simulator tests have been carried out in the ship simulation facility SUSAN. This survey has been carried out as an expert rating with six ship masters and officers participating. The report describes the methods which have been used for the survey and discusses the results from the consultation with the experts and the evaluation of the simulator tests.
