STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS OF SPB LNG CARRIER

The IHI-SPB (Self-supporting Prismatic Shape IMO type B) LNG system is an advanced LNG tank system developed. Precise stress fatigue and fracture analysis proves the tank strength which satisfies requirements of IMO type B tanks. This paper describes the analysis system developed to execute this analysis, and an example of structural analysis using this system is given.
