APPLICATION OF SITING AND DEMAND ESTIMATION MODEL TO COORDINATE PARK-AND-RIDE/HOV FACILITY PLANNING
The purpose of this paper is to present the findings of the comprehensive user survey and to document some preliminary findings on the relationship between park and ride usage and HOV lane availability which will guide further research in upcoming phases of the study. The survey of existing users of park-and-ride lots within the Southern California study area took place in October 1992 . The study area included Los Angeles and Orange counties and urban areas in Ventura, San Bernardino, Riverside and northern San Diego counties. There are 170 park-and-ride lots, with a total of 17,563 parking spaces.
