A METHOD FOR THE SEMIPROBABILISTIC STUDY OF SHIP STRUCTURES
A definition of the safety index has been furnished, according to the physical meaning of the index, which can be carried out, without space transformations, for general multivariate distributions. Two iterative methods have been studied for its determination, the first one relative to normal variables, the second one relative to a particular non-gaussian distribution. The first method has been extended to generally distributed variables by an approximate representation of the joint probability density function.
