CLUB MED 2: CRUISING UNDER SAIL
CLUB MED 2 and her older sister CLUB MED 1 were developed from the earlier Windstar class built by Aleliers et Chantiers due Havre, France in 1986. They offer a different approach to the idea of 'cruising under sail' in that they are essentially sail-assisted motorships. Their diesel-electric propulsion plant gives a service speed of about 16 knots, with speed under sail alone, in a 10-knot wind, being about 4 knots. Principal particulars and general arrangement drawings are given.
