SOME CONSIDERATIONS OF THE FRIGATE PROJECT

An analysis of the frigate concept is made in the light of world development of the type in the period 1969-1981. The design characteristics of some representative frigates in current service are presented and compared. Finally, the authors deal with the technical aspects of hull, machinery and weapons systems design which will require special consideration in the next generation of frigates
