EFFECTS OF MARITIME SIMULATOR TRAINING ON PERFORMANCE
This study assesses the effect of maritime simulator training on the performance of experienced shipmasters. Twelve captains each carried out three simulator exercises. Mental workload was assessed by a psychological test. The effect of training was evident in the captains with high competence levels and even more evident in the case of captains with moderate competence levels. Captains with low-level competence did not improve their performance during the simulator-based training. moderate competence levels.
