GUIDANCE FOR IVHS OPERATIONAL TEST EVALUATIONS
The Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act (ISTEA) requires that operational tests utilizing Federal funds shall "have a written evaluation of the intelligent vehicle-highway systems technologies investigated and of the results of the investigation..." The MITRE Corporation, in its role as the IVHS Systems Engineering and Program Support contractor to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), has written guidelines intended for use by individual projects in developing their project-specific evaluation plans. This paper describes those guidelines.
