RAILWAY BRIDGE WITH DOUBLE COMPOSITE ACTION ACROSS RIVER MAIN

This brief article describes and illustrates the design of the double track railway bridge across the River Main at Nantenbach. This is a continuous truss girder bridge whose main span is 208m, and which has a slope of 12.5% and a radius of 2650m. The full length is 374.4m and the side spans are 83.2m each long. The bridge is still under construction and is scheduled to be finished in late 1993. The site spans will be erected on auxiliary piers. After pouring of the bottom chord concrete, the centre part of the main span will be floated in and lifted. The French title of this article is: Pont-rail en structure mixte sur le Main. The German title of this article is: Eisenbahnbruecke mit Doppelverbund ueber den Main. For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 851274.
