ROAD NETWORK IN THE IRRIGATION SYSTEM AND ITS INFLUENCE ON THE OPTIMUM SOLUTION FOR IRRIGATION

PUTNA MREZA U SISTEMU ZA NAVODNJAVANJE I NJEN UTICAJ NA IZBOR OPTIMALNOG RESENJA ZA NAVODNJAVANJE

A rural road network should be constructed in the irrigation system because of increased transport demands. As the costs of rural road construction are high, those costs should be analyzed when analyzing various solutions for water delivery. The article suggests a method for the selection of roads which should be constructed and for determining the pavement width of particular road categories. It also presents the selection of the optimum solution for irrigation. This method is illustrated with an example showing the importance of the shape of the surface intended for irrigation on the total costs of the construction of the system. (TRRL)
