IS DELINEATION NEEDED?

A pavement marking demonstration program and a special research and development program to improve the effectiveness of highway delineation techniques are discussed. The research studies discussed were conducted to examine the effect of several types and patterns of delineation treatments on accident experience and traffic behavior.
