Report, national survey of drivers in the freight forwarding sector
This report provides the National Road Freight Industry Training Committee and other interested bodies with a data base on characteristics of the national road transport driver workforce, and on the dynamics of the labour market for road transport drivers. Two comprehensive national surveys were undertaken. The surveys were directed to two distinct groups. These were: firstly; a survey of managers at 342 freight forwarding depots and, secondly, a survey of 161 road transport drivers. In addition an analysis of ABS data on road transport drivers was undertaken to provide additional information and also a test of the validity of survey results.
