Abstract:In this work the authors presents the results of a comparison of the Marshall and Superpave methods for hot mix asphalt design. Actually the Marshall method is the most employed in Mexico but it seems that the Superpave method will be adopted in the future. The background of both methodologies is presented, and some considerations based on the rut susceptibility are discussed. Included figures, tables and conclusions.
